Earlier this week, Fox canceled "Terra Nova" after several months of contemplating its possible second season on the network. Because "Terra Nova" has a loyal (if not huge) following and it has performed well internationally, 20th Century Fox TV is attempting to revive the series at another network; with Netflix emerging as the top contender.

While the cast and crew wait for word about the series' ultimate fate, "Terra Nova" costar Stephen Lang has released a statement to Deadline reiterating his belief in the show and why it should continue.

“'Terra Nova' is analogous to the Hubble Space Telescope," wrote Lang. "Within weeks of a much publicized and ballyhooed launch in 1990, the Hubble was found to have a serious flaw. Yet even with an improperly ground mirror the Hubble delivered extraordinary images. When the flaw was corrected the Hubble delivered images of transcendent beauty and value for many years. So too 'Terra Nova.' Even in it’s flawed first season each episode was full of marvelous moments and beautiful images."

"With correction, and given the chance, 'Terra Nova' can and will deliver seasons of transcendent images and story-telling," continued Lang. "Failing to renew 'Terra Nova' is shortsighted, as myopic as it would have been to scrap the Hubble. 'Terra Nova' is the Hubble Telescope of television.”

Since the story about "Terra Nova's" possible renewal broke, it has now become clear which actors would be returning in a potential second season. Christine Adams — who played the Sixers leader, Mira — was cast in the ABC pilot "Americana" because Mira was not slated to return for the second season of "Terra Nova."

Allison Miller — who portrayed Skye — was just added to the cast of an NBC comedy pilot called "Go On."  However, Miller's contract with "Go On" is in "second position," which means that she is still tied to "Terra Nova" if it can pull off a miraculous resurrection. Presumably, Lang,  Jason O’Mara and the other major players of "Terra Nova" also remain attached to the series… for now.
