"We've come to a dangerous place. I would kill for you. I expect I'll have to before this is over." – Tyrion Lannister
In just under three weeks, HBO will bring viewers back to Westros for "Game of Thrones" season 2; just in time for the War of Five Kings to spread across the seven kingdoms.
And while intrigue over the Iron Throne is everywhere, the players in this drama are equally at risk from their conflicted affections. In the third extended trailer for the new season, we see Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) recommit himself to Shea (Sibel Kekilli) and questioning Sansa (Sophie Turner) about her devotion to King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) before Jon Snow (Kit Harington) meets the mysterious Ygritte (Rose Leslie) beyond the wall.
We also meet Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) as she encourages Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony) to seek his crown while Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) spells out his admiration for Daenerys Stormborn (Emilia Clarke) and Robb Stark (Richard Madden) battles the feelings in his own heart while trying to shoulder the responsibilities of a king.
Yes, there is love in Westros, but as Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) says in the trailer, "The more people you love, the weaker you are."
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on Sunday, April 1.
