Spoilers ahead for last Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead"! Stop reading now if you're not up to date with the series!
After months of buildup, Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) put a plan in motion to kill Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and steal Rick's family for himself. To that end, Shane faked an escape by Randall (Michael Zegen) before executing him and leading Rick into a deadly trap. However, Rick saw through the ruse and confronted his former friend about his intentions. Rick even got Shane to let down his guard long enough for Rick to fatally stab him.
Unfortunately for Rick, his young son, Carl (Chandler Riggs) soon stumbled across the scene and seemingly blamed Rick for murdering Shane. Moments later, Shane came back as a walker himself before Carl shot him through the head to save his father.
In this week's preview scene, Rick realizes that Carl has misinterpreted what he saw and now Rick has to decide whether to tell Carl the truth about how Shane died. But first, they've got bigger problems to deal with.
To follow that up, the trailer for this Sunday's second season finale shows us that the farm is under attack by the largest horde of zombies since Rick's trip to Atlanta. And it doesn't look like everyone is going to make it out alive.
SPOILER WARNING FOR THIS SUNDAY'S SEASON FINALE

And in the second picture, Rick and his family seem to have survived as well, but there are a few people missing noticeably missing from their group.
The synopsis for the season finale also suggests that the survivors may be split up in the aftermath of the new attack.
