The Montreal-based firm ID Digital Media has created an iPhone, iPad and Android app for the media sector of the international film industry.
“Increasingly the filmed media landscape is becoming multi-screen. The TV market and the Smartphone/tablet markets are intersecting. Since our sister company ID Communications represents a range of producers from around the world, we have decided to harness this bountiful offering of creativity and make interactive applications which-spin off from the narrative, or augment the content in some way for these other devices,” said Dan Shannon, founder of ID Digital Media, in an official press release. These new apps are due to the growth of the Smartphone market, which has pushed past the 100 million users mark in North America; more than 25 billion apps have been downloaded from the iTunes store as of February 2012.
