We never stop playing video games. That’s a fact. Even after we call it quits for the week we still look forward to getting home and continuing our digital conquests. It’s our life blood. So we thought it would be fun to share with everyone what our gaming intentions are for the weekend so you guys can get a sense of what we're playing and enjoying on a weekly, non-formal basis. Yes, this concept isn't new to the internet. But hey, we kind of want to join in on the fun. Can you blame us for that? So without further ado, here’s what we’re playing this weekend that will forfeit any semblance of rest…
Feel free to sound off below to let us know what your gaming plans are this weekend.
Alex Keen (@dbldn): It has been incredibly quiet recently on the gaming front. After finishing Binary Domain, I’ve gone on a bit of a gaming sabbatical. I’ve spent some more time with Bastion and a couple of arcade titles but nothing really in-depth. With spring break coming next week, something deep inside of me is considering playing Skyrim or Mass Effect 3. I’m just a bit intimidated by the time commitment and I’d rather not start something I can’t finish (Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, I see you glaring at me).
Despite the quietness of my game playing this week, I have played Kinect Rush a couple times. This game may be one of the worst gaming experiences I have ever had. It has all of the annoyances of a licensed game for kids with the shitty controls of a bad Kinect game. Disney should be embarrassed with themselves. Thanks to Erik for bringing this mess into my life.
Erik Norris (@Regular_Erik): You’re welcome, Alex! As for me, now that Ninja Gaiden 3 is out of my hair (good riddance!), I’ll be chilling this weekend and playing a little bit of Mass Effect 3. I’m still nowhere near finished with the game, but I can’t wait to see what all the rage is about with the title’s ending. I probably won’t get there this weekend, but I’m going to stay optimistic that I’ll have plenty of time over the course of the next three days to assist in Shepard saving the universe.
Outside Mass Effect 3, I may just crack open the copy of Silent Hill HD Collection that we received. But I’m going to be honest, Silent Hill 2 used to scare the utter crap out of me, so I’m not really sure how badly I want to revisit that experience. Memories will be dredged up and I’ll be in the fetal position rocking back and forth before you know it. That doesn’t really sound like that awesome of a weekend…
Joey Davidon (@JoeyDavidson): Sine Mora. I just downloaded it. While our own Erik Norris wasn’t a fan, as he said in his review, I’m actually liking it after around an hour into the campaign. Yeah, it’s non-traditional in terms of life and death, but it’s a gorgeous shooter with sweet weapon effects and enemy types. Plus, seriously, the music is awesome.
Also, Kid Icarus for the 3DS. I plan on completing the campaign and spending time replaying my favorite levels on more intense difficulty settings. Once that’s finished, I’ll be marching to the review section of my work on the title. I don’t like the control scheme, that much I’ve already said, but the game itself has been a good bit of fun so far. It’s bizarre, at times, but it’s really, really good.
