Hey, come in close. I have a secret to tell you. OK, here it goes: people really like Angry Birds. Like… really, really like it. A lot.
This past week Rovio released the latest iteration of the series, Angry Birds Space, and the title has already been downloaded over 10 million times within three days, reports Rovio on their company Twitter account.
To put that number into perspective, it took the original Angry Birds title a month to push 500,000 units. It appears as though Angry Birds fever is still going strong. So you can expect new Angry Birds Space merchandise at your local FYE and Hot Topic any day now…
Personally, I'm not much of an Angry Birds fan, even though I do love space a lot. But it's clear I'm in the minority. That's because there are at least 10 million people who still love wingless birds being flung at bodiless, green pigs.
If you're one of the 10 million people who purchased Angry Birds Space last week, what do you think of it so far? Is it a completely fresh experience or does it feel like more of the same? Sound off in the comments below.
