Sunday Is Coming

As the Game of Thrones Season 2 approaches, comedians are ready.

As a fan of the HBO series Game of Thrones, I’ve been counting the days until the series returned to air. I’m not the only one, it seems, as Los Angeles based comedians Chris Starr and Lauren Flans (amongst others) have created a pretty amazing sketch in celebration of the long, cold wait for more Thrones. It also takes a shot at another popular franchise, but I’ll leave you to watch and find out…

On the subject of Game of Thrones parody in general, it really doesn’t get any better than CollegeHumor’s fantastic 8bit game parody. It’s really fantastic, and it makes me wish an entrepreneurial game designer would just make games like this. I’d pay a buck or two to download something this fun. We’ve covered this more than once on, but if you happened to have missed it here it is!

When I went to grab this embed for this episode, I found out they’d created a “deleted scenes” snippet with more Thrones goodness. Here’s a little additional nugget of goodness! GOODNESS, I SAY!

Now on the subject of Game of Thrones parody, it’s hard to write this article without noticing that one group of comedians has been doing an episodic parody of the show, episode to episode. It’s not always perfect comedy, but at least it’s consistent. I like the animation style, too. Here’s the first one they did, and you can follow along or not, as you see fit. But hurry up and catch up! The premier is coming before you know it!
