See The First Poster for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

The revisionist western starring Jamie Foxx gets one hell of a snazzy one-sheet.

Despite the sudden departure of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Django Unchained keeps chugging along. Quentin Tarantino's first film since 2009's Inglourious Basterds offers a new take on the old-fashioned western, with Jamie Foxx playing a former slave on a mission to save his wife, who's still owned by the villainous Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), a man who exploits his slaves in a sadistic amusement park. It sounds closer in tone to Sergio Sollima than John Ford, so it's fitting that the first poster has a stark design befitting a true spaghetti western. This Spanish poster made its debut at JoBlo, so click over there for the high-res image.

Django Unchained opens Christmas Day, 2012.
