Star Wars 1313 Preview

It’s Star Wars meets Uncharted and it’s awesome.

I’m just going to state this bluntly: Star Wars 1313 blew my mind apart. I got a chance to check out a hands-off demo of the game and it’s exactly what the Star Wars brand needs in the video game space: a cinematic action-adventure that explores the darker aspects of a galaxy far, far away.

As LucasArts pointed out, Star Wars 1313 is a mix of third-person, cover-to-cover gunplay and epic platforming segments. Sound familiar? Well, it should, because Star Wars 1313 basically feels like Uncharted set in the Star Wars universe, and it’s as awesome as it sounds.

For Star Wars 1313, LucasArts is working closely with a number of internal Lucas-brand companies like Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound. In fact, Star Wars 1313 seems to be the most elaborate collaboration across multiple Lucas studios to date. And it’s because of this collaboration that LucasArts was able to achieve such a high quality, cinematic feel with 1313. For instance, Industrial Light & Magic just wrapped up work on the Avengers flick, and now they’re letting LucasArts use their motion capture technology for the characters and world of Star Wars 1313. This gives 1313 an unbelievably authentic feel, both in its world and the characters that inhabit it…
