On the fifth season premiere of "True Blood," Sookie Stackhouse ( Anna Paquin) and Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) made a desperate deal with Pam (Kristin Bauer) to save the life of Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) by turning her.
During the closing moments of the episode, Tara emerged reborn as a vampire and immediately attacked Sookie. So, Tara's either really pissed off or she may have significant memory loss after getting shot in the head by Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan).
In the first of two preview clips for this week's episode of "True Blood," Sookie and Lafayette have Tara back in the house, but she's behaving as if she's completely feral while Pam is nowhere to be seen. And neither Sookie nor Lafayette seem to be eager to approach Tara in her current state of mind.
For the second preview clip, we catch up with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Nora (Lucy Griffiths) as they find themselves in the custody of the Vampire Authority and one of the leading Chancelors, Salome (Valentina Cervi). Although the Authority headquarters appears to be remarkably clean, the basement detention level will probably be bloody soon enough.
HBO has also released a trailer and a spoiler filled synopsis for the second episode:
At the Vampire Authority headquarters in New Orleans, Bill and Eric meet Salome (Valentina Cervi) and become acquainted with the Authority’s interrogation techniques. Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) recalls her human life as the madam of the Comstock Brothel in San Francisco, and her first encounter with Eric. Werewolves J.D. (Louis Herthum) and Rikki (Kelly Overton) pay tribute to Marcus, but Alcide refuses to participate or take his rightful place as the new packmaster.
Martha Bozeman (Dale Dickey) shows up wanting to see her granddaughter, causing conflict for Sam and Luna (Janina Gavankar). Fearing Russell’s return, Sookie procures a home-protection system; Arlene (Carrie Preston) tries to get to the bottom of Terry’s erratic behavior; Steve Newlin stops by with an offer for Jessica; and Jason feels the brunt of his womanizing ways.
"True Blood" season 5 continues this Sunday, only on HBO!
