During the final months of "Community" season 3, a public feud broke out between series creator Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase, who co-stars on the show as the clueless millionaire, Pierce Hawthorne. At the time, there was even speculation that Chase would quit the series or be written out of the show if it was renewed.
Shortly after "Community" was given another season by NBC, Harmon was infamously removed from his own series. But in front of the camera, "Community" will remain intact.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures TV has exorcised its options on all of the actors on "Community," including Chase, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.
NBC and Sony Pictures TV have also set up a "Community" panel at this year's Comic-Con International; where it will be held in the main convention center for the first time. Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs and Danny Pudi will all be in Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 13 at 10:00AM. However, Donald Glover, Chase and Jeong will be out of town and unable to attend. Rash is directing a movie; which will force him to miss the panel as well.
"Community" will debut its fourth season on Friday, October 19.
