Anne Hathaway Wants to Make a Catwoman Spin-Off?

Is there a future for the Christopher Nolan Batman franchise after all...?

Most people seemed to really dig The Dark Knight Rises, and even though the consensus seems to be that The Dark Knight was a little better, the film left everyone here at CraveOnline wanting more. Unfortunately, it seemed like we aren't going to get anymore. Christopher Nolan says The Dark Knight Rises is "the conclusion of my involvement with it," Christian Bale is jumping ship as well, and a rebooted version of the character, one which could tie more easily into the Justice League movie, has long been discussed by the higher-ups at Warner Bros. But what about Anne Hathaway…?

Actually, she'd be up for another one.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Anne Hathaway was asked about a comment Nolan made about Catwoman deserving her own movie. Her response: "If he's interested, I'm very interested."

"I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."

Encouraging? Well, not terribly. While it's nice to hear that somebody from Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise wants to do more, the fact that her interest is predicated on the involvement of Nolan's camp doesn't yield much hope for an actual spin-off, especially considering where her character ends up at the end of The Dark Knight Rises. Which is a little too bad, since we thought she was purr-fect as Selina Kyle.

Oh come on, you try to resist that pun. We dare you.

CraveOnline will be back with more Catwoman news if we get to keep the string of pearls.
